Leonardo doesn’t have a son….. but He is Ruel Vincent Van Dijk and looks like Dicaprio . Born in 2002, he was raised in Isleworth, London by his British mother, Kate van Dijk, and Dutch-born and New Zealand-raised father, Ralph van Dijk who founded the Australian radio agency, Eardrum. Four years later, his family moved to Sydney, Australia. His tryst with music began at an early age after his father sent a demo of him singing James Bay’s ‘Let It Go’ to Grammy Award-winning producer M-Phazes
M-Phazes told The Music in a 2017 interview, “I lost my mind when I heard his voice!” That same year, Ruel released his debut single ‘Golden Years’ in collaboration with M-Phazes, and reportedly, in June, he made his live radio debut performing Jack Garratt’s ‘Weathered’. With over half a million views in less than 48 hours, he became the youngest-ever featured performer on the show at 14.
really look like Dicaprio
The next month, his song ‘Don’t Tell Me’ shattered music charts and Elton John played his song on BBC Radio 1. Ruel then teamed up with DJ Khalid on his American Teen Tour of Australia and New Zealand and signed with RCA Records internationally. He has also been awarded Breakthrough Artist for his single ‘Dazed & Confused’ at the ARIA Music Awards of 2018.
As he is slowly climbing the stairs of success, why are fans trying to cancel him? Apparently, it seems like they are tired of waiting for his album release. One fan wrote: “Everyone we have to get #ruelisoverparty trending. This is very important to us as Ruel stans and we must hear from @oneruel if he is going to release an album or an ep. please reply with #ruelisoverparty regards, taya.” Another tweet read: “#ruelisoverparty we are tired of being lied to.” A fan wrote, “Me on all of my devices taking back every stream I’ve ever given Ruel bc this b***h has like 69 unreleased songs and still can’t find enough for a full album.”
